1 Corinthians 7

17 And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God, not your marital status, defines your life. Don’t think I’m being harder on you than on the others. I give this same counsel in all the churches.

29-31 I do want to point out, friends, that time is of the essence. There is no time to waste, so don’t complicate your lives unnecessarily. Keep it simple—in marriage, grief, joy, whatever. Even in ordinary things—your daily routines of shopping, and so on. Deal as sparingly as possible with the things the world thrusts on you. This world as you see it is on its way out.

a year's perspective

I went into this year giving up everything and have gained so much more.
I've gotten my time back. Instead of sleeping my life away I finally woke up. I finally realized that life isn't in the movies, it's real. Sparks that create lust aren't real, that kind of thinking is for movies and teenagers. Love is having a deep respect for someone who is compatible with you. Someone that compliments your life and doesn't try to change you. Someone that shares your core values. Someone that doesn't isolate you but brings you closer to your family. Someone you don't want to change, but love them for who they really are.

My head isn't in the clouds, for the first time in quite a while, I'm here and in the moment.

not abandoned

This year I am thankful for many great gifts I have been given.
Memories created, never to be forgotten.
Love, loss, and new doors opened.
My time is filled with different priorities now, hope for the future to see what may grow.

I have not abandoned this site just yet, words have just been hard to come by.
Time has gotten away from me and my perspective on the world I once knew is changing.

a year later

A year later and everything has changed.
Giving everything up doesn't mean losing hope.
Giving everything up to God means gaining hope.
The worry of "what if" is in his hands.

Letting go, and letting God take control.
