collection of icons

I'm developing a collection. An abstract interpretation of classic icons, buildings, materials, fabrics, and people. Something or someone that has transitioned throughout the years.
When researching the topic I google "fabric icons", and instead of iconic fabric patterns popping up like polka dots or stripes, tiny icons of facebook and twitter printed on fabric appeared on my screen. I couldn't believe just how much our vocabulary and interpretations of words has changed over the years. I never thought something so simple as "icon", would take on two completely different meanings.

time to think

Does contentment lead to ruts?
If nothing new happens in our lives, does that mean we're not moving forward?

Change can be good, but can no change at all be a warning sign of things to come? Do we need to be constantly moving, or is there a way to be completely content while standing still?

Time to find a hobby.

decisions, decisions

the glamourai: January 2011: "'with short hair you begin to crave pearl necklaces, long earrings, and a variety of sunglasses. and you brush your teeth more often. short hair removes obvious femininity and replaces it with style. when it starts growing out a little and losing its style, you have to wear sunglasses until you can get it to the hairdresser. that's why you need a variety. short hair makes you aware of subtraction as style. you can no longer wear puffed sleeves or ruffles; the neat is suddenly preferable to the fussy. you eye the tweezers instead of the blusher. what else can you take away? you can't hide behind short hair... you may look a little androgynous, a little unfinished, a little bare... but your face is no longer a flat screen surrounded by a curtain: the world sees you in three dimensions.'

whirlwind

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"

Life is just one big emotional game we play in our heads. A crazy over analyzation wasting valuable energy and time. If things are meant to happen, they'll just happen. Give it time, and everything eventually works itself out.
That being said . . .
I did it. I got a job. It happened in a flash and I know it was meant to be. I am so blessed, to finally start doing what I've always wanted to do. I know you have to crawl before you can walk, but the more I dive into the world of design, the more and more I'm loving with it!
